Tout comme le reste du corps, les os ou encore la mémoire, les oreilles vieillissent aussi. Tout le <strong>système auditif</strong> dans sa globalité vieillit et démontre avec le temps des signes de fatigue.</p>\r\n \r\n <p style="text-align: justify;">Les <strong>cellules ciliées dans l’oreille interne</strong> qui interprètent les sons et les envoient ensuite au cerveau via le nerf auditif ne sont plus aussi performantes, elles se meurent, elles ne sont plus aussi nombreuses. La presbyacousie est aussi due à une dégénérescence globale de la chaîne des osselets, du tympan ou encore du système nerveux central.</p>\r\n \r\n <p style="text-align: justify;">Comme l’indique le <a href="https://sante.gouv.fr/prevention-en-sante/preserver-sa-sante/article/reperage-et-prise-en-charge-de-la-presbyacousie#:~:text=La%20presbyacousie%20(ou%20surdit%C3%A9%20li%C3%A9e,et%20irr%C3%A9versible%2C%20bilat%C3%A9rale%20et%20sym%C3%A9trique" target="_blank">ministère de la santé</a>, la presbyacousie est une « diminution physiologique des capacités auditives ».</p>\r\n \r\n <h2 style="text-align: justify;">Comment la presbyacousie se traduit-elle concrètement chez le patient ?</h2>\r\n \r\n <p style="text-align: justify;"><br />\r\n La patient atteint de presbyacousie va connaître une <strong>surdité</strong> dite de perception, cette surdité s’installe par étape, elle n’est pas soudaine ou brusque, elle est plutôt progressive et surtout irréversible.<br />\r\n L’audition perdue ne reviendra pas comme cela peut être le cas dans certaines situations de surdité brusque due à un <strong>choc acoustique</strong> ou à une infection, par exemple.</p>\r\n \r\n <h2 style="text-align: justify;">La presbyacousie peut-elle ne toucher qu'une seule oreille ou les deux ?</h2>\r\n \r\n <p style="text-align: justify;"><br />\r\n Généralement, la presbyacousie touche les deux oreilles, elle est bilatérale, elle n’est pas unilatérale. En revanche, une oreille peut être plus touchée que l’autre mais cela reste exceptionnel. Dans la grande majorité des cas, la presbyacousie se caractérise par une surdité bilatérale (deux oreilles) et symétrique.</p>\r\n \r\n <h2 style="text-align: justify;">À partir de quel âge la presbyacousie survient-elle ?</h2>\r\n \r\n <p style="text-align: justify;"><br />\r\n Le ministère de la santé affirme que la presbyacousie peut survenir à partir de l’âge de 50 ans. Cette faiblesse auditive se dégrade et s’aggrave avec le temps et avec l’âge. Elle se révèle souvent gênante, et donc diagnostiquée, vers l’âge de 60 ans.<br />\r\n Les médecins et chercheurs avancent qu’une personne sur deux de plus de 70 ans souffre de presbyacousie. Avec le vieillissement général de la population, il y aura à l’avenir une part très importante de la population souffrant de presbyacousie.</p>\r\n \r\n <h2 style="text-align: justify;">Quels sont les signes d’une presbyacousie ? </h2>\r\n \r\n <p style="text-align: justify;"><br />\r\n La presbyacousie se reconnaît dans les premières années par : </p>\r\n \r\n <ul>\r\n \t<li style="text-align: justify;">une perte auditive des fréquences aigues, cela peut très bien se vérifier lors du bilan auditif sur l’audiogramme ;</li>\r\n \t<li style="text-align: justify;">certains patients peuvent aussi connaître des acouphènes mais pas toujours.</li>\r\n </ul>\r\n \r\n <p style="text-align: justify;">Autres signes qui peuvent alerter : une personne qui souffre de presbyacousie fait répéter ses interlocuteurs plus souvent. Les milieux particulièrement bruyants sont source de stress et peuvent être particulièrement fatigants. Les voix plus aiguës de femmes ou encore d’enfants sont plus difficiles à comprendre et à interpréter. Enfin, la personne souffrant de presbyacousie aura tendance à monter le volume sonore de la télévision ou de la radio.</p>\r\n \r\n <h2 style="text-align: justify;">Par quoi la presbyacousie peut-elle être influencée, accélérée ou précoce ?</h2>\r\n \r\n <p style="text-align: justify;"><br />\r\n Le premier facteur est l’âge, nous l’avons vu. La génétique rentre aussi en compte. De plus, il ne faut pas minimiser les facteurs extérieurs que le patient peut vivre et rencontrer tout au long de sa vie.<br />\r\n Par exemple, si le patient travaille dans un environnement particulièrement bruyant et qu’il met son audition à rude épreuve de nombreuses années (certaines usines ou secteur de la musique particulièrement), il a plus de risque de développer une <strong>presbyacousie précoce</strong>.<br />\r\n Les individus qui ont connu des <strong>traumatismes sonores</strong> (concert, coup de fusil, etc.) au cours de leur vie sont aussi plus touchés par la presbyacousie. Les individus qui ont souffert au cours de leur vie de <strong>maladies de l’oreille</strong>, d’infections diverses bactériennes ou non (otites chroniques), ont eu leurs oreilles fragilisées et sont plus à risque de connaître une presbyacousie.<br />\r\n Les personnes cardiaques, les personnes diabétiques ou encore les personnes qui ont du prendre des <a href="https://mon-centre-auditif.com/blog/tout-savoir-sur-l-ototoxicite?utm_source=Blog&utm_content=Article-143" target="_blank">médicaments ototoxiques</a> (toxique pour les oreilles) sont aussi plus à même de développer une presbyacousie plus tôt que d’autres.</p>\r\n \r\n <h2 style="text-align: justify;">Quelle prise en charge pour la presbyacousie ?</h2>\r\n \r\n <p style="text-align: justify;"><br />\r\n La presbyacousie se diagnostique à la suite d’une <strong>bilan auditif</strong>. Cet examen teste l’audition. C’est un passage obligatoire pour faire un état des lieux de vos capacités auditives.</p>\r\n \r\n <p style="text-align: justify;">Ce bilan auditif complet doit être mené par un médecin spécialiste du système auditif, l’<strong>ORL</strong>.
