    L’audioprothésiste se charge de la conception et de l’adaptation des aides auditives qui se logent dans l’oreille du patient. Dans un premier temps, il réalise un bilan auditif complet (audiogramme) dans le but d’évaluer le degré de surdité. Puis, l’audioprothésiste procède à la prise d’empreinte pour que l’appareil soit le plus confortable possible à utiliser. Ce professionnel est doté des compétences nécessaires pour orienter le patient vers un dispositif adapté à son profil (budget, mode de vie…). Ses conseils permettent également aux personnes qui le sollicitent de se prémunir de la pollution sonore et de préserver leur fonction auditive.\r\n

    Les personnes souhaitant exercer cette profession dans notre pays doivent être nécessairement titulaires d’un Diplôme d’Etat d’audioprothésiste. Cela étant, tout le monde n’a pas accès librement à cette formation, en effet les étudiants intéressés doivent être bacheliers et ils sont soumis à un concours ou un examen d’entrée. En l’occurrence, trois solutions s’offrent à eux. La première consiste à se former dans des universités de médecine ou de pharmacie, la deuxième est d’intégrer une école spécialisée. Par ailleurs, le Centre de préparation au diplôme d'État d'audioprothésiste (CPDA) compte parmi les autres établissements qui délivrent le Diplôme d’Etat d’audioprothésiste.
